The ensemble, composed by Fabio Macchia, Giulio Cintoni and Simone Buttà, was born with the idea of ​​interpreting the original repertoire of the ‘900 and proposing first executions collaborating directly with the new composers. It is based on the concept of THAUMA: “wonder”, just what the percussive Trio wants to induce to its audience.
The proposed repertoire, from the original chamber music for percussion to the electronic one up to the performances of musical theater, includes composers such as: J. Cage, S. Reich, Y. Xenakis, G. Battistelli, G. Colangelo, S. Sciarrino , M. Lupone and many others.
At present, throughout the national territory, he also carries out an intense educational activity devoting himself to concert lessons and training, collaborating with many Italian municipalities, associations and schools of all levels.
Their first audio-video work dedicated to some works by new Italian composers is in production.
The Thauma Trio collaborated with artists such as P. Galloise, L. Zilberstein, ArsLudi ensemble, Stefano Bollani, E. Morriconi, Freo ensemble, PMC, Nicola Piovani, Luigi Piovano, Chigiana Percussion Ensamble, Patrick Gallois, David Krauker, Alessadro Carbonara, Giuseppe Ettore, David Gegingas, Maurizio Giammarco, Maurizio Sigurtà, Giovanni Falzone, Roberto Spadoni esibendosi in importanti festival di musica da camera come Ravello Festival, Chigiana Internetional Festival (SI), JAP MAXXI (museo arte contemporanea di Roma), Tempo Reale (centro studi musicali L. Berio), MAIN Matera Intermedia Festival, Festival le forme del suono (Conservatorio di Latina), Festival Musica di Tradizione (amici della musica del Lagonegrese), Matera 2019, Music for silent movies (Keyhole Association).
